About

Daniel Thornton is a passionate film guru since a very young age. In 2003 Daniel took that giant leap and took up his first film education in the New York Film Academy in London. After that nothing could hold him back in wanting more. In 2008 he completed working as a Production Assistant trainee on an international French production which gave him the motivation to continue down this path. 

 

Following this exciting project and with his mentors advice Daniel went back to film school in the UK to complete an Associate's Degree in Motion Picture Production. 

 

Since graduating in 2009, he moved back to Malta and was given the opportunity to work in the transport department on a German Production named "Vicky the Viking" were he served as a Transport Captian/Asst. Unit Manager 

 

From 2008 to 2011 Daniel started moving up the ranks from 3rd Assistant Director to 2nd AD on international projects featuring international cast whilst also managing my his own studio producing local TV commercials. In 2011 a first opportunity arose to work as a head of department as a Unit/Transport manager on an exicting Canadian production 'Moby Dick'.

 

 

During his last project in 2014 Daniel had the opportunity to serve as an Assistant production manager thus giving him the experience of working at management level on a large budget project for CBS Television Studios and other international production houses. 

 

“Unlike all the other art forms, film is able to seize and render the passage of time, to stop it, almost to possess it in infinity. I’d say that film is the sculpting of time.”
